Having orgasms throughout the day may sound like a dream come true, but for sufferers it can be a nightmare. A woman suffering from a rare condition claims it has left her so debilitated that she is unable to work and can barely leave her home.

“It’s not something you want… it can be very distressing,” the unnamed 29-year-old patient described in an “Ask me anything” post on Reddit. “Anti-Climax” warns when it’s painful.

The poor girl specifically suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD), which involves “experiencing unwanted feelings of sexual arousal in the genitals that are unresolved by one or more orgasms,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The patient has no control over when these changes begin, and orgasm cannot alleviate them.

“The number of orgasms could be anywhere from 3-5 to over 25… but one day I believe I hit 50,” the Reddit user recalled. She said she felt “in the cervix” The strongest feeling.

She also noticed some warning signs of impending stimulation, explaining that “sometimes I feel panicked or dissociated. My genitals feel tingling. I feel a pleasant sensation deep inside.”

She added that she would “feel tingling in my clitoris that then spread to my rectum and cervical area.”

While the situation may sound like eternal bliss, the Reddit user said many of the situations ended in pain, which left her terrified every time she felt an orgasm approaching.

“For me it wasn’t sudden, but a slow build-up, and the build-up didn’t always end in climax, so I never really knew if I was going to climax,” she wrote. “It’s an intense pleasure, and if it ends up causing me pain, it makes me feel sick, and nausea scares or upsets me more than pain because I hate vomiting.”

The poster said she once moaned during an unwanted incident, but now sounds mostly like she’s in pain.

Spontaneous irritation is difficult to avoid. Historically, Reddit users’ constant arousal has been caused by seemingly innocuous random triggers, including wearing certain clothes, sitting on a hard surface, or even hearing the sound of a motorcycle passing by.

The Reddit user said she avoids masturbating because she doesn’t want to worsen her symptoms.

Thankfully, the woman claims she is now less sensitive to stimulation, but the condition still makes her life a living hell.

“I order clothes and groceries, and most of my appointments are telehealth,” she said. “I don’t work and live alone.”

The tortured woman claimed she even missed her mother’s funeral for fear of experiencing an involuntary orgasm.

In fact, the Reddit user has been so withdrawn that she only confides in one romantic partner – her long-distance boyfriend, who she describes as “very understanding.”

The catalyst for this Reddit user’s PGAD is unknown, but she claims it may have been a traumatic reaction to a sexual assault she suffered when she was 9 years old.

She also speculated that it could be a side effect of taking or stopping antidepressants for schizoaffective disorder, a disorder involving mania, depression and hallucinations.

Experts, meanwhile, attribute the condition to a variety of factors, including pelvic varicose veins, cysts at the base of the spine and abscesses near the clitoris.

Unfortunately, little is known about this disease, which affects 1 percent of women, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

The woman claimed she had been reluctant to seek treatment because she had heard “doctors’ reactions were either negative or they had never heard of this condition.”

The public doesn’t quite understand either.

“I’m being asked here if I can be with the kids, which is probably the worst thing that could happen, and I’m worried that someone is going to ask me because they might interpret my illness as something more sinister,” she said.

Currently, the Reddit user says she hides her condition by simply telling people she feels pain during attacks (which is not untrue), while also seeking comfort in support groups for PGAD patients.

“This is great,” she said.

A Rhode Island woman previously revealed her own experience with PGAD, saying it was “unwelcome and no fun” in any way.
