Movement is the body’s song.
Exercise nourishes not only the body, but also the brain and soul. This shouldn’t really come as a surprise to us. Just watch a group of kids and you’ll see how important it is for them to get up and move — to play, compete, or even challenge themselves to see what their bodies (and their minds and spirits) can achieve. For kids, physical fitness is clearly linked to mental health and spiritual well-being. If you’re not physically active, kids will suffer in every way. Well, the same is true for adults. For adults, studies show that regular exercise not only improves our physical health, but it also reduces our susceptibility to stress, anxiety, and depression — which happen to be the top three triggers for addiction relapse. So, exercise helps us stay sober.
