Can a behavior become addictive?

Whether you smell it, smoke it, eat it, or shove it up your ass, the result is the same: addiction.

In most ways, sex and porn addiction is the same as any other addiction. At least, they are defined by the same basic criteria: (1) Preoccupation to the point of obsession with the chosen substance or behavior; (2) Loss of control over substance use or behavior, often manifested by failed attempts to quit or reduce; ( 3) Directly related negative consequences – relationship problems, work or school problems, deterioration in physical health, depression, anxiety, decreased self-esteem, isolation, financial hardship, loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, legal trouble, etc.
