The most powerful tool of sobriety is talking to another recovering addict.
To establish and maintain long-term sexual sobriety, we need safe spaces in which we can talk openly and honestly about our sex or porn addiction, without fear or judgment. This is especially true after we’ve struggled with a potential or actual relapse. The most logical place for this is before, during, after, and between 12-step sexual recovery meetings. If no meeting is taking place at the exact moment that we need support, we can reach out to fellow group members via telephone or text for a quick (or longer) chat. Usually, even the slightest contact with another recovering addict is helpful.
Task for Today
Get to your usual 12-step meeting at least 15 minutes early and stick around for at least 15 minutes afterward.
