Events involving Chinese and Japanese citizens in 2024
Dalian’s murder follows other recent incidents involving Chinese Japanese nationals. Last September, a 10-year-old boy was attending a Japanese school and was stabbed in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province by a 44-year-old man. It is reported that the attack occurred about 200 meters from the 93rd anniversary of the railway tracks near Shenyang on the 93rd anniversary of the Japanese bombing.
Three months before the incident, a Japanese woman and her child were attacked by a knife in Suzhou. School bus attendant Hu Youping saw the man at the bus stop and “immediately” stopped him. Then, she was stabbed several times, and two days later, she suffered injuries. The Japanese mother and son were injured, but their injuries did not threaten life.
