Rumer Willis hits back at trolls who shame her for speaking out

Rumer Willis

First, Rumer Willis was shamed for breastfeeding her daughter Louetta, and now, she’s being shamed for talking about sex toys on her Instagram profile.

You mean a woman, a mother, speaks proudly about female pleasure? It’s amazing, and yet, internet trolls try to destroy her pleasure, because of course they do.

In case you missed it, on August 8, Willis shared a photo of herself holding a Bellesa Boutique brand sex toy and used the post to talk about the importance of female pleasure, saying, “In a world where female pleasure is often overlooked, taking time for a solo practice is a powerful act of self-love and discovery, which is why I got you guys a toy for International Women’s Day!”

It’s a great post and a reminder for people and mums to take good care of themselves. However, some trolls commented: “OMG this is real. Only kids will see this ” and “This information is best kept private. Too much.”

But Willis hit back in a video on EOnline’s Instagram Stories.

“What I find so interesting is that I would say a lot of the comments I see are like, ‘Oh my god, you’re a mom,’ ” she said on Aug. 8. “‘Don’t show such intimate moments. First you’re breastfeeding and now this.’ ”

She added: “We live in a culture where feeding your baby in public, talking about female pleasure, talking about female sexuality is offensive. Just posting about something or having some kind of casual, impromptu conversation about it, people react so viscerally. I think it’s so important to have these conversations so that we can remove some of the shame that’s associated with it.”

“As someone who has a daughter, I think it’s despicable to shame her or to allow her to explore her sexuality and the taboos that come with it,” she concluded the post. “I want Lou to be able to love her body and be able to share it with whoever she wants or not.”
