When Blanca and Phillip Luna decide to add a third person to their relationship, they are about to become empty nests.
The Texas couple fell in love with Delain Diem and became a “closed triad” or Throuple.
“We like to call it ‘three forces,'” Delain, 44, told San Antonio Express News. “When we work together, we can almost eliminate anything.”
Artist and musician Philip said Phillip, 52, and Blanca, 49, have been married for 25 years, during which time they “had a great time” and raised three A child. But now it’s time to add fun to things.
“We started trying to meet other couples, just trying to date,” explains Blanca, who works as the school’s operations administrator. “For me, it’s figuring out my sexual desire. How much am I willing to explore with my husband, how open are we to have this conversation?”
Then, they met with Delain in 2017.
“She was very funny and very beautiful,” Blanca recalls, who met Delain, 44, through work. “Phillip is like, ‘Who is That? So I introduced them and we put them into practice. ”
When Delain, who is in the sales business, first met Blanca and Phillip, she “didn’t know what a multi-trojan horse is.” At the time, she was a divorced mom-dating two – dating others.
She remembers: “I thought, ‘I can’t tell if these guys are hitting me, or if I’m making new friends.’
A few weeks later, they were “in the dirty diving bathroom” as Blanca leaned over to kiss.
“Dane asked me that I looked young and I told her ‘by kissing a pretty girl like you’.”
“That’s when I know,” Delain inserted. “That’s why the ice is broken.”
Now, the three lovebirds are “closed triads”.
“We love spending every day together,” Blanca said, adding that they “can’t get enough of each other” and insisted that it didn’t disconnect her from Philip.
“It just feels very comfortable and natural.”
Philip said his peers questioned his decision to pursue polygamy.
“But then they saw us and our dynamics and then they went, ‘Wow, what a powerful trio is’.”
“Of course, we lost friends along the way,” Blanca added. “They can go by themselves.”
She said she was “clear” to her family and she was determined to choose a lifestyle – some family members and former friends managed to “say something offensive” – but the kids were very receptive to the relationship.
“They set an incredible example for me,” said Violet Luna, 24, who also calls polymorphism. “I learned a lot by watching them love each other.”
She also calls herself a “bonus mom” and likes that she has other siblings, which means “more celebrations, more birthdays, more dinners”.

Although jealousy and boundaries have crossed, the trio has worked together to live most “ordinary” lives. Blanca is an avid frugal, an ocean volunteer at a local dog shelter, Phillip creates art while the Triad loves to watch their favorite TV shows.
“We all have our particularities, but for the most part, we’re very cooperative together,” said Delain, who moved in in 2018 with the Luna family near San Antonio Royal Park.
However, this triple cannot be legally married, so to make a promise to each other, they held a wedding, created their own certificates with the children, and invited all their loved ones to celebrate in 2022.
“We all feel like it’s a long-term, eternal thing,” Blanca said. “It’s important for us to feel like we’re part of a unit.”
