Issue 1 Details
The story takes place Naruto Shippuden. Teenage reporter April O’Neil meets with Hokage Tsunade, which piques the curiosity of ninjas Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. Soon, the evil Foot Clan shows up, and their plans target April, who may hold valuable information on some mutation research that the clan is interested in. Caught between Konoha Village and the Foot Clan, she’s shown up by the Ninja Turtles to help her!
We really like the illustrations released for this collaboration. So far, the illustrations seem to reflect Kishimoto’s style more, with the Ninja Turtles adopting Konoha Village motifs, such as headbands and masks similar to those of the Anbu Black Ops Squad. This is not surprising, this aesthetic goes both ways, and we’re happy to see Kakashi’s Team 7 also adopt some of the cool urban style of the Ninja Turtles. Based on public information, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto does not seem to be involved. However, he undoubtedly has his blessing and will be excited about the ninja idol meeting ninja idol.
Check back for more details around November 13th of this year, when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto #1 is released.
