Bondara Sex Positions Blog - A Latex Day in Honor - Honor Clothing Store Waterloo

looking for honor

Along Lower Marsh Market, red brick buildings line the market walkway. In the center of the window stands a store with glossy black paneling, contrasting with a cherry red background and models wearing wet clothing. There is an air of taboo about the display. A kind of naughtiness. Commuters simply glance at the shiny clothes on the road and move on. Laughed at but not yet attracted to the world of alternative clothing. This is where I should be.

I rang the doorbell and waited to go in. This small superficial detail sets the tone for the boutique experience. People were excited. I admit, having never thought about wearing latex, and then standing in front of a professional fantasy clothing retailer was a little daunting. But we’re breaking the mold; there’s no time to stress! Fortunately, my work experience at Bondara introduced me to the world of Kink and Fetish. I am ready.

The door was answered and I met Larissa, Honor’s social media manager and content creator, who gave me a tour of their Waterloo store. There are racks and displays of clothing from wall to wall and ceiling to floor. It’s extra warm, unlike the coolness of a checkered floor. Having been converted into a house, the layout of the store can’t help but make people feel warm and welcoming; it is now a home base for latex and PVC clothing, and every room is suitable for women’s clothing, men’s clothing, underwear, dressing rooms or adult toys.

What is honor?

Larissa was friendly and answered many of Bondara’s questions about latex clothing and Honor clothing.

Honor’s story begins in 1988 when it opened its first store as a lingerie retailer in Waterloo, London. It extends to latex, PVC, leather, wet wear and more. In 2012, Honor merged with Skin Two Clothing, further expanding its style and design.

Customers love latex skater dresses, turtleneck skater dresses, leotards and skirts. Thanks to the growing acceptance of the alternative scene, new people are discovering latex wear every day, but Honor also has some die-hard fans born in the 1990s.

Both Bondara and Honor have seen a rise in the popularity of latex clothing in the mainstream. The red carpet is no stranger to pushing the boundaries of creativity, with Kim Kardashian, Salma Hayek and Timothee Chalamet all wearing this Material, Alex Scott wears tight clothing on the court.

Like any other business in the adult industry, Honor admits they struggle with adult restrictions on social media platforms and search engines. Although Honor promotes everyday looks rather than strictly fetish wear, there’s a fine line between sexy and adult.

The world of adult performers and content creators has become part of the conversation lately, thanks to the shock value of characters like Bonnie Blue and Lily Philips. Despite this, kink and fetish culture and its communities remain largely buried and taboo, with anything that belongs being relegated to the “restricted” category.

latex ritual

Many of our processes today are designed for efficiency. The rituals of traveling, talking, dressing and cooking no longer require our undivided attention. The value of each of our hard days is how quickly we complete each task, not how present we are in each moment. Latex brings back the need for self-awareness, mindfulness practice, and ritual.

Knowing your boundaries can help you determine the level of coverage you want. You can also decide whether you want these pieces to be worn privately, under “regular” clothes, or to parties and events.
Latex is a natural rubber derived from the sap of the rubber tree. It is collected by “knocking,” which involves cutting the bark and placing a container beneath the cut to collect the latex. Time is allowed for the liquid to coagulate and form clumps before it is removed for further processing.

Before wearing latex, it’s a good idea to check if you might be allergic to latex! If so, you may experience a reaction anywhere from 30 seconds to a few hours after exposure to the material. This means you may experience a range of symptoms of varying severity (mild itching or even an allergic reaction!) If you experience itching after using medical latex gloves, balloons, latex condoms or catheters, it’s best to confirm your Allergies: Check with your local GP before trying a onesie, but for everyone else, jump in now!

For those with latex allergies, other moisture-sensitive fabrics are equally beautiful and comfortable, such as PVC, which you can try in-store. Many people even prefer the feel of PVC to latex, so don’t get frustrated.

I am allergic to latex condoms and had to find them the hard way (literally). However, I am not allergic to latex that I wear on my skin (like gloves)! yeah!

I quickly learned that latex garments require care and respect. Sharp objects and fingernails are a no-no, they can tear the fabric. Proper storage in a cool, dry place will also ensure the longevity of your clothing.

How should I wear latex clothing?

“I recommend you take your time and start small. Start with a small piece of fashion, like a corset or bandeau, and get to know the fabric and build layers. Over time, you’ll feel comfortable in your own skin, And try more!” – Larissa, Social Media Manager and Content Creator at Honor.

step by step

  1. What to look for: Styles range from traditional pin-up girl silhouettes to bodysuits, so choose the level of coverage you’re comfortable with – you don’t have to take your tattoo off if you don’t want to!
  2. Lubrication: Depending on your clothing and how much you sweat, you’ll have to apply some lube to the skin where your clothing is. This will help you slide into the fabric more easily. If using lube sounds like a sensory nightmare, talc works like a dream too (and is my go-to method).
  3. Get dressed: At this point, you will be half-naked, lubed up, and ready to get dressed. It may be helpful to have a friend present to help adjust the straps or zippers or to assist with the tugging.
  4. Shine, shine, shine! This is when your friend might help again – apply some polish to a cloth and wipe your latex off. Watching it go from matte to shiny is so satisfying.

Larissa gives some sound advice: Start with “outfits that are easy to put on and take off.” If you want to buy some latex, try wearing a pair of gloves. For PV, our recommendations are the same: gloves, tube tops, vests, skirts, shorts, etc.

losing my latex virginity

When I put the latex on, the material was cold at first. However, your body will quickly heat up the fabric. Latex is almost like a second skin, but without the claustrophobia. This can be a little strenuous, but once you get started, it’s a huge relief. I really enjoy the feeling of tight clothes. It feels safe, that’s exactly how these latex garments make me feel.

Another noteworthy positive is the aura of confidence before compared to after wearing latex. The fabric hugs all my curves in just the right way and my butt looks great! i have worn [] Bondara had not previously considered venturing further into the world of fetish clothing. Don’t worry; I’m a convert.

Pairing my black latex halter body with shiny thigh straps, wet black boots and glove-style leather hand guards, the look was pulled together. Standing in the mirror is a woman who is trying something new, bold, brave and going against society’s “good girl” policy. Despite the misconceptions about fetish clothing, any concerns I might have disappeared the moment I tried latex clothing.

wet fashion

For girls…

My trip to Honors prompted me to take another look at our wet fashion. While Bondara isn’t an expert in latex play, we have a fetish clothing option for everyone!

For boys…
