Bondage Paws – Beginner Information and Product Reviews

what are these?

Tie-down claws are another accessory you can use during “pet play.” They can be used on any animal that has “claws” (not just dogs) – house cats, wolves, etc. The fun thing about claws is that they are one of the few add-ons you can “make” yourself.

In addition to making you look more like your animal, it can also change the way you move around or interact with objects. This enhances the role-playing and/or power-control factor. Adding locks is another step forward for this kind of play.

What materials are they made of?

Since you can DIY the sky is the limit but there are some “traditional” materials or things that are more common. Here are some examples…

leather – These gloves usually come in a “glove bag,” which is basically a bag for your hands. The gloves are either plain or have details to look like real claws (or cartoon versions). Be aware, they can be a bit pricey. If you like the look but are on a budget, buy cheaper faux leather gloves.

eraser – Perfect for those who have a soft spot for rubber and need something durable. The stronger the rubber, the more it will resist abrasion.

emulsion – Not like Halloween masks, but more like weird costumes that people wear. They come in a variety of shapes – from baggy (like leather) to fingerless gloves, which are more of a fashion statement.

Fabric – Felt, fur, whatever. Pink polka dot cotton if you like. It’s also easier to sew your own if you want to save money.

Tape – This is a great bonding trick. Wrap your puppy’s hands in plastic wrap (to protect them from the tape) and wrap tightly (but not too tight). You can also paint paw prints if you like! Also, if you’re concerned about allergies, there’s a “bonding tape” that sticks to itself, not the body.

Which one should you buy?

There is no right or wrong, no good or bad. What is your budget? Are you new to playing or looking for something to show that you are more interested in this type of game? Is it a gift? Are you allergic to any materials?

After that, look at the actual bondage aspect – just drawstrings, decorative buckles, stiff leather straps, lots of buckles, buttons, etc. How it fits on your hand and is it a form of bondage you will be comfortable with.

Consider all the details and choose the right one.

Other matters worth noting

Another way to make sure you’re happy with your purchase is to look at product pictures, read reviews, see how many reviewers there are, see where the product is made, check the return policy, etc. You can even message the seller directly if you have more questions. Just make sure you’re not paying more because the title has words like “kink” or “BDSM.”

Let’s look at an example…

I have randomly selected a product from a Google search. Let’s see what the product is and whether it is worth buying.

The first thing that stood out was the company. They make products specifically for certain types of role play (age and animal). They also give the measurements (however simple). I wish there were more photos from different angles – I can’t see the restraints, but I’m guessing it’s a buckle. The details and construction look nice, although suede gets dirty more easily than leather. The rivets holding it together look sturdy.

But now…the price.

I know leather isn’t cheap but I’ve bought cheaper jackets than this. I wonder what the markup is for this outfit. This is definitely not for beginners and even if I upgrade to veteran gear I still want to make sure I’m not getting ripped off. A quick look at the return policy showed that returns are only for defective merchandise.
