Why expensive personal matchmakers soar in popularity
Love in the air – the price is certain.
Once you are downgraded to the back of the on-board magazine, you will secretly whisper during lunch, or think it is a “religious thing”, and a professional showdown is just a moment.
The new film Poluthlistist is Dakota Johnson, a love triangle with Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans, capturing the triangle, shines a new, fascinating glow to this ancient profession. The most recent episode of Hate-Watch du Jour “and that…” hired Cheri Oteri as a matchmaker for Saria Choudhury’s role. In real life, New York media said the business is booming.
Bonnie Winston, founder of Bonnie Winston Matchmaker, said it was a “blast”, and the company charged up to $150,000 for its customers’ services. Winston has seen her business “multiplier” in the past few years and has witnessed a new group of matchmakers entering the business.
“My clients are billionaires and many millionaires – they have succeeded in every area of their lives … besides love,” she told the Post. “They don’t want to be alone.”
Winston hosts an annual industry gathering for others in her career every May. She said that in 2022, about 90 people participated. This year, 165 matchmakers have arrived.
“This industry is getting bigger and bigger,” she said. “It should [be]. What’s better or more important than helping people find love? ”
Winston, who teamed up with Patti Stanger of Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker” show, said she was responsible for “too many marriages to count”, adding: “The matchmaker industry has grown because it works because it works,”
Dating services, including apps and old-fashioned matchmakers, have exploded in the past few years and are expected to reach $13.4 billion in revenue by 2030. Meanwhile, traditional applications in dominant markets, such as Hinge and Tinder, are suffering some declines.
A study released in April by digital companion platform JOI AI found that 64% of app users felt “desperate”. Shares in Match Group, a technology giant that runs many dating apps, including Tinder, Hinge and Okcupid, have dropped more than 80% from pandemic highs.
Lori Zaslow and partner Jenn Zucher run NYC’s high-end docking service Soulmate, NYC-based. The company charges up to $120,000 for its services.
“People used to meet at work – but, legally, you can’t do that anymore,” Zaslow said.
But the pandemic, rather than HR policies, actually led to prosperity.
“Because of COVID, people feel like they’ve gone for many years of their lives, and they want to make up for that, they’ll use every pathway they’re available to them,” Zucher noted.
Meanwhile, close social skills that make people rusty.
“People have forgotten how to flirt with Kuvid and are no longer good at it,” Zaslow said.
“And you don’t want to do what you’re not good at – you’re worried about rejection,” Zucher added. “With a matchmaker, you know you’re going to be building with someone being censored, who is actually single, and looking for love, too.”
Winston agreed.
“People flirt with muscle atrophy, and they don’t know what to do,” she said. “They just don’t know how to re-riddle.”
On the Upper East Side, a dedicated marriage event at the buzzing private club Casa Tua attracted 50 single men and women, aged 24 to 65.
The Invitation-only Night is part of Casa Tua’s membership service and our first promotion, a new matchmaking company that was founded in February this year.
Candace Bushnell, creator of Sex and City, serves as co-host, and participants of participants (including financiers, lawyers, technicians, media villains, some models and former professional basketball players) asked and answered questions such as “Do you have helicopters and helicopters?”
When our first founder Sandra Hatton charged up to $4,000, it was announced that the incident was successful and planned to hold others.
To make it easy for their elite clients, nearly all high-end matchmakers offer services such as professional photography courses and profile coaches.
“People, please. There is no selfie with a bare fist in the bathroom!” Zucher moaned.
Winston even hooked up with clients with the psychotherapist she worked with.
“If you’re going to break up or trigger them, or something above my salary level appears, I include a consulting session,” she said.
The matchmaker said their expertise and assistance far exceeded their high prices.
Winston claims a success rate of 85%, and she defines success as marriage, but “where people fall in love and are loved.”
Zucher and Zaslow say their happiness rate is 90%
“We’re outsourcing everything these days,” Zaslow said. “People dry-cleaners to dry-cleaners. They hand over the kids to the nanny. Why not pay someone else to find your love match?”
