The UK ban on pornography depicts violence to stop the growing violence against women and girls.
The government announced that it would criminalize pornography depicting blackmail. This is after an independent porn review by Baroness Gabby Bertin.
The comment found that pornography effectively makes blackmail a “sexual norm” and “safe” behavior.
The amendment will be conducted under the Crime and Police Act.
Alex Davies-Jones, the victim and minister of violence against women and girls, said: “Depicting ransomware during sexual acts is not only dangerous, but dangerous, with real-life effects on women.
“The rise of suppressing the shocking rise of ransomware will protect women and send obvious signals to boys and boys that misogyny will not be tolerated.”
Meanwhile, Andrea Simon, director of the Ultimate Violence Against Women’s Alliance (EVAW), said the organization welcomed the government’s decision during Evaw’s many years of campaign.
“There is no safe blackmail; women cannot agree with the long-term harm it can cause, including impaired cognitive function and memory. In pornography, its widespread portrayal is aggravating dangerous behavior, especially among young people,” she said.
“This is an important step in recognizing the role of violent porn in shaping attitudes toward women and normative industries that promote attitudes and profits against women.”
