This is the loneliest country in the world

According to a recent study, there are many lonely souls in this world.

People can feel lonely at any age for any reason – but those who are 50 and older are said to be the loneliest.

Where are these desolate people?

After studying 29 countries and their loneliness rates – a team of scientists at Emory University found that Greece and its neighbor Cyprus have the loneliest people.

Slovakia and Italy almost tied for second place. The United States shouldn’t be too arrogant, though, as it manages to list the top five.

Although older people often describe themselves as the loneliest feeling, the results of the study show that, except for the Netherlands, middle-aged adults in the United States are relatively lonely compared to all other countries.

“It is generally believed that people become more lonely as they age, but in reality, middle-aged people are more lonely than older generations in the United States,” said Dr. Robin Richardson, a professor at Emory University.

“Our findings suggest that loneliness is not only an advanced problem. In fact, many middle-aged adults (usually juggling, caring and isolation) are very vulnerable and require targeted interventions, just like the older adults, added Dr. Esteban Calvo.

However, these reasons are what causes older people in other countries to feel isolated.

Obviously, we have a sense of global loneliness in our hands.

But it’s not all about doom and melancholy. Denmark may have a small population, but they seem to be most satisfied as the country ranks the last on the list.

Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Spain are also low on the list.

While the study notes that both middle-aged and older people feel the most evacuated, a specific type of loneliness has recently hit women in their 30s.

It is known on social media as “Girls’ Generation,” a group of women’s friendships that are afraid to miss out on the tightly-connected, often portrayed in the media.

Popular TV shows like “Sex and the City” put female friendship at the forefront – without their own Charlotte, Samantha, Carrie and Miranda-type groups, it frusts many young women.

Eliza Becker, 27, shared on social media the message about how the phenomenon personally affected her.

“I often feel this way, and it makes me do a lot of things alone – I can do it – but it’s a time like this where you appreciate company.”

“I think as girls, we often believe we need a group,” she said.

“We are often told about the importance of ‘Girls’ and have a solid friend to talk about life issues and relationships”.
