It’s a type of planned obsolescence, that these $90+ wands will die within less then a year.

And it’s the heat that kills them. The motor and components around it can only displace so much heat in a closed system. And there’s very little incentive to build better products with a heat sink and copper piping to better distribute the heat to the handle. We know this is a solution because cell phones have been doing this for many years now.

I am hopeful talking about this problem will bring this more to light.
