Lock it in!
Chastity Named Best Fetish of 2025 by Clips4Salewhich calls itself the largest online platform for kink and fetish content.
It’s a lot wilder than just keeping the hanky-panky going – there’s still a variety of shows, just no finale.
While it may seem like an outdated, even medieval, concept — bulky metal chastity belts have been around longer than any of us — this quirky kink has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity in recent years.
According to data shared by C4S, interest in chastity sex toys has surged 193% since 2020, with a 71% increase in 2024 alone.
In the US, Florida and Pennsylvania are said to have the most searches for restrictive gear by sexy babes, while “chastity” is the most searched for fetish in Idaho and Nebraska.
Once a relatively niche interest, the practice of orgasm denial – which is at the heart of the kink in question – has moved to the forefront of sexual exploration, according to the porn site.
The most common manifestation of the fetish is the use of a physical device, usually a cage or harness, that restricts the wearer’s ability to experience orgasm.
These devices are usually worn by men, are locked, and the key is held by the partner (the “keyholder”), who decides when or if the wearer is allowed to climax.
Chastity play can last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.
The fetish even has its own month called “Locktober,” during which participants (mostly men) practice a month of enforced sexual abstinence.
It even works with celebrities. Katy Perry wore a chastity belt locked around her crotch while filming a music video this summer, and Julia Fox, Tiger Woods and Lenny Kravitz have also publicly discussed abstinence.
The news comes as many Gen Z are exploring the idea of denying their sexuality – “resetting” their virginity, becoming “boysober” and joining South Korea’s “4B” movement.
Chastity offers a subversive take on mainstream purity culture, as seen in movements such as NoFap or the “tradwife” aesthetic, which often associate sexual abstinence with a sense of moral superiority or self-denial. The explosion of online communities has made this fetish more visible and accessible than ever before.
Proponents claim that it emphasizes power dynamics—control, submission, and the eroticism of desire itself.
Online retailers were quick to catch on to the trend, with mainstream platforms like Amazon offering a wide range of chastity devices, further fueling the fetish’s popularity.
