My wife isn’t perfect. She’s not always loving, and she’s said things we both regret. Basically, she’s broken. It was like I was falling apart physically and mentally.
There are places where she is sadder than me. I can focus on that and feel superior. But there are places where I am sadder than her. That’s human nature, and I have to try to focus on that.
Over the years, whenever Lori did or said something I didn’t like, or didn’t do something I thought she should do, I would remind myself that my dear wife was broken. Just like me! This helped me put the facts into perspective and reminded me that I often hurt and let her down.
I suggest you embrace the “broken like me” lifestyle. It will make your marriage better and should lower your blood pressure a little.
