Thailand hopes to be the hottest destination on the planet – probably already.
Of course, this is largely thanks to HBO, which sets the third season of their completely popular show, White Lotus, at the White Elephant’s Home.
If the first two seasons attracted troops to Maui and Sicily, that’s a precedent for cashing out, the latest environment for the show, the four-season resort on Koh Samui, is about to be in the future Book in a few years.
Between July and October, bookings in Thailand increased by 34%; by January, they increased by 312% year-on-year, according to travel agency Fora. Thailand Tourism Bureau is even hosting a website specifically for “White Lotus”, wedding planners and resorts report that Thailand is on the lips of every blushing bride and grinning groom (because the Thai government is equally legalized, interest Also surges – January’s sexual marriage).
But now, if you are in a hurry, it’s not a “white lotus” wedding, which will be the jealousy of your high school enemies.
“When Michael White walked in, he fell in love at first sight,” said JJ, general manager of Koh Samui, the four seasons of the show’s creator. “It’s quiet and very intimate. There’s so much privacy and lush landscaping. It’s a very romantic place.”
JJ said he didn’t expect the resort to sell out for a wedding or be booked for a honeymoon until the season premiered on Sunday, February 16. Until then, everything was on the table.
“It’s a very movie resort and people will want to create their own ‘white lotus’ moments,” said JJ of Thailand’s second largest island resort. “They will get married in a residence where they were shot and have a chance to go to the scene and have a chance to go with them.” The guests hold a party of full moons, such as during a show.”
But the first thing is the first thing, and you will want to give it your all. After all, it only has 60 villas and 11 residences. This fee depends on timing, but in high season it is about $2500 per night, while larger multi-bedroom homes are $5,000 per night.
What will that give you? Starting from the first day reception of what JJ calls the “White Lotus” bar (we assume some small screen action must be set there). After a few cocktails, expect a special beach barbecue. The next morning, your entire party will serve a private breakfast on a secluded hiding path designed specifically for your wedding, aptly called the beach house – which is where your ceremony takes place.
“The next day was dinner at our Michelin-star Thai restaurant – and then our restaurant.” Of course, it’s possible to be more intimate (and affordable) “I do” as well.
Arriving there is a direct flight from New York City to Singapore, the company provides a connection to Koh Samui. But JJ recommends you start your stay in Bangkok to create a four-season “White Lotus” track.
He said: “The beauty of the ‘white lotus’ that takes place in Koh Samui is that four seasons have a resort in Chiang Mai, a tent camp in Chiang Rai and Bangkok ) a hotel for a metropolitan experience. ”
Como Point Yamu in Phuket can host weddings of up to 300 guests. Cape Como Yamu
Add them to your Thai adventure and you will be very trending. Interest in Thailand’s ultra-high-end hidden places is booming. Once a low-cost fortress for hard-crusty backpackers and party animals, it is becoming more and more. Health is the words of the day, and the resorts are competing for upscale, trying to attract more gracious (and richer) guests. So when Koh Samui inevitably bookes, you’ll be spoiled for the “White Lotus” scam.
Of course, the most obvious of these is Phuket, which has zero ground for Thailand’s self-awareness reshaping. This lush tropical island is filled with a “white lotus” look (and the real thing: the shooting was taken at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas).
“We see the restaurant open, which is another level of plastic chairs and Thai food from the past. Now, there are art galleries and coffee shops; it’s even more fun.”
Andy Kunz, Managing Director of Como Point Yamu, Phuket.
But having a Thai wedding is more important than ensuring a TV-like location.
“You can have a ceremony, but you need to go into town and get all verifications,” said Andy Kunz, managing director of 106 rooms in Phuket Como Point Yamu. “So, it was mainly married people who attended the symbolic ceremony.”
To truly, legally, get married in Thailand, you need to register a union at your local Amphur (Thailand Regional Office). According to the U.S. Embassy, this may take several days – not recommended.
Nevertheless, Kunz held 45 weddings last year and has booked 34 weddings in 2025 at the East Coast Resort overlooking the Andaman Sea. He has witnessed the development of the largest island in the United States to a luxurious hotbed that attracts many couples today.
“We see restaurants open on another level than the plastic chairs and local Thai cuisine in the past,” he said. “Now, there are art galleries and coffee shops; it’s more interesting.”
Last thing: The idea of not marrying a wedding on the beach. Looking for a higher position, here the perspective is more dynamic, memorable, and shocking.
“We’re a little raised, on the tip of the cape. We have 360-degree sea views. Just like on your own island,” Kunz said.
