“How do I feel certain on Valentine’s Day?transparent This is a question I often receive in the Suggestions column.
First of all, happy Valentine’s Day! Partnership, no matter what the status of your relationship is, he is suitable for everyone. Love comes in many forms and we celebrate through our families, friendships, children and pets. Building a romantic partnership doesn’t define you. Unfortunately, for many, this iconic occasion can be a tough day. I know this on a personal level because I spent many years being single on Valentine’s Day
How to embrace singles on Valentine’s Day
I know the easiest thing is to stay home and wait for the day to end. I did this for a few years until I was smartly led by self-love and friendship and accepted February 14th. No matter what day it is on the calendar, creating love is so important to yourself.
There is a reason Galenting’s Day becomes a popular phrase. Women decided to spend the day celebrating each other. This is a great thing. It makes you appreciate the love you share with your friends and will surely take away any feeling of loneliness. If most of your friends are in a relationship, book a hot spring day or other type of pampering activity. Self-care is a natural mood enhancer!
What activities can singles do to enjoy Valentine’s Day?
- Plan movie night with friends.
- Visit your local bar. This is a great place and most people who go there on February 14 are single. Usually, this is not the place where romantic couples choose to go that night.
- View a single event that is happening in your city.
- There is a potluck girl at home at night.
- Buy yourself flowers, have a bubble bath with candlelight and a glass of wine.
- Plan a FaceTime call with a single friend who lives outside your city.
- Go on a vacation to a universal single resort. Or do a solo tour! There are many other single travel ideas online.
- Organize a group game night for friends.
- Thank you for what you have in your life. Showing appreciation brings more good things. When you have goals in your life, being single doesn’t necessarily feel lonely. Embrace where you are at a given moment.
- Do something positive that makes you feel good. Go to a yoga class or gym. Plan a hike with friends or trek. Nature is healing, and fitness releases endorphins that help boost happiness.
Valentine’s Day is difficult for many people due to all the hype on social media. Remind you that you are not in a romantic relationship. This may drag your heart, and it’s the last thing you need today. Remember, there are a lot of decorations on these platforms. Not everything looks like it. It is important not to compare yourself to anyone else. Many single men and women are also dealing with the same situation as you.
Stay loving and try not to let this day let you down.
We all know our people at different times in our lives. I definitely have some tough moments when it comes to love and relationships. I found that the best way to browse some of these lonely times is to change my attitude.
Your ideas will directly change your life path, whether they are positive or negative. Embracing every stage of your optimism is always a wise choice. Take the time to observe what is thriving and eliminate those feelings of self-doubt or regret. You should have been here. Can be single.
Sometimes, you need some loneliness and space to understand who you are. Giving yourself love is as important as showing love to your partner. The key is knowing what really matters to you in a partnership. This is when you are ready to receive someone special in your life. Being single has its benefits. Take the time to develop and become the best version of yourself. Like to celebrate you today.
