Takanomen’s New Culture Center
On September 12, 2025, Beams Cultuart officially opened its first independent store at the newly opened Takanawa Gateway. It is located on the fourth floor of the shopping and cultural complex directly connected to the Gaunahua Portal Station, and it is more than just a store. This is part of the gallery, part of the record shop, part of the milk tea cafe…almost certainly where you are going to visit.
Beams Cultuart has been integrating art, design, music and lifestyle into something fresh and engaging. It has lived in other beam storage so far, but in this new location, the concept finally has its own space.
Tokyo weekend Go to the opening reception and witness the store’s mission to make a living in full color. The space is full of energy as guests browse through well-curated art and poster displays, flipping through old-fashioned records and ipped milk tea or craft beer from the cozy counter area while playing the carefully curated soundtrack of the DJ stall in the backstage.
However, this atmosphere is not only for special events. The store is designed to be a daily cultural video group chat. It’s a place to explore, wander and connect with music and art.

Digging out vinyl and art
One of the outstanding features is the second-hand record section – the first in the beam store. There were about 500 records at launch, spanning hip-hop, R&B, disco, houses, jazz and many different Japanese releases. With turntables and speakers, visitors are encouraged to listen before purchasing.
The same accessible spirit extends to the art on display. The store, in partnership with creative group Rotten Donuts, launched a permanent “art digging” corner designed to recreate the thrill of crates, but related to visual art. The fragments are shown in a way that feels hands-on and inactive – more about discovery than form.
Book lovers are enjoying it too. Add to mix is Hi Bridge BookThis is a bookstore that only retains books and can contribute carefully selected magazines, art books, and even hard-to-find publications. This is a collection that rewards slow browsing and repeated access.
Exclusive products enhance the feeling of this store providing something you can’t find elsewhere. The opening lineup includes costumes with Bien’s artwork, and Rarerawis a Korean interior brand and debuted in Japan. Meanwhile, the live gallery space will host a rotating exhibition to ensure the store remains dynamic and worthy of revisiting.

Equally important is the entrance to the store, which recently opened its first permanent milk tea service store ever. Before or after the exploration space, iced or hot cups of original mixed milk tea provide the perfect stop. The on-site counter seating allows guests to sip and stay, while the takeaway option makes it easy to drink on the go.
In total, Beams Culture Takanawa embodies the brand’s commitment to making culture accessible and enjoyable. By combining records, art, books, exclusive collaborations and drinks, it creates a social, approachable and unquestionably creative destination. For commuters, travelers and locals, this is the reason why he wanders around the Gaunahua Portal – a reminder that culture thrives when weaving into everyday life.
