Personally, I’ve always been a 420 girl. Since I’ve always been a sex positive It’s no surprise that I regularly mix the two. But while some claim it’s the ultimate aphrodisiac, leading to the most mind-blowing sex they’ve ever had, others find it the messiest or most awkward. Of course, as with any substance, it can have very different effects on people depending on a host of other factors. But as a regular sex and weed mixer, I’m here to share with you some pros and cons of mixing that might be worth considering.
The Benefits of Mixing Weed and Sex
Let me intervene here.
1) Easier to relax
When it comes to marijuana, the topic of heightened senses is one of the most talked about. People often say that sex is better when they are high. This study shows that people feel more relaxed, euphoric, and emotional, all the ingredients for good sex. As with most things that are pleasurable, you are much more likely to enjoy it if you are calm and relaxed. Tense sex: Less fun and harder to experience true intimacy.
2) Increased libido
A 1984 study cited by Psychology Daily found that users had an increased libido after smoking marijuana. While this study may be outdated, people still report increased sexual desire when under the influence of marijuana. While there are endless factors that could be studied further, given the many claims that have already been studied, smoking marijuana before foreplay does indeed seem to increase arousal!
3) Increased creativity
Marijuana has been proven to open up new creative thought patterns, something I can personally attest to as a longtime writer. This quality, of course, can be a huge bonus for the lovers among us! Make no mistake: sex is a creative act, or at least it should be. Chances are, your ability to have fun, as well as an organic ability to imagine fun new ways to give and receive, simply comes to you when you’re high (and in the presence of someone you’re comfortable with and attracted to, of course)!
4) Feel present
For many, it’s easier to be present in the moment, and therefore in your body, after a few puffs. In fact, many say that time seems to slow down when they smoke. Those racing thoughts that race through your mind can be dulled or silenced. You can be more in your body and less in your head. Peneloppe, a model for adult lifestyle brand SuicideGirls, says smoking helps her “escape everything that makes me human: my problems, my worries, my stress, my phone notifications and changing work schedules – and just be the animal version of myself long enough to lose myself in sex.”
5) Intensified orgasms
Even if you orgasm all the time and have never had trouble achieving it, some herbs can create new categories of orgasms, especially for women. For example, the internal “vaginal” orgasm that some find difficult to achieve, or multiple orgasms (although this is not necessary!). It can also be easier to achieve orgasm for those who usually have trouble achieving it. The reason for this probably has to do with being more relaxed and having increased sensitivity. There were times when I was so high and horny that a kiss on the back was enough to make my entire being convulse. Really.
The inconvenients
Although personally, love When mixing sex and weed, I have to admit there are some drawbacks.
1. Dehydration and dryness
According to Dr. Julie Holland, smoking weed can lead to vaginal dryness, in addition to the more commonly known phenomenon of dry mouth, which is exactly what the name refers to. I can vouch for these issues. This is due to the drying out of the mucous membranes, which can actually shut down the action. The best way to avoid this is to drink plenty of water, smoke a very small amount until you’re more familiar with how weed affects you during sex, and learn more about which strains to choose.
2. Emotional dependence
Trust me: Marijuana can act as an emotional crutch if used excessively, just like any other substance. If you Never Having sex without smoking weed, it’s possible that fostering intimacy without the aid of a substance is harder than it needs to be. In my opinion, it’s more about the relationship than the substance, but weed can mask problems just as much as it can work magic. Know thyself.
3) Too much of a good thing
The American Academy of Neurology studied the effects of marijuana based on dosage. Guess what? The more weed you smoke (or eat, or vape), the more intense its effects. Translation: if you smoke too much, you may not get much pleasure because you’ll be too stoned. Unless you already know what strain works for you and how much to smoke, it can be hard to know if you’ve had too much…until you’ve had too much. In these cases, I’ve always found that cuddling and passing out is the best solution.
4) Carelessness
Any mind-altering substance can make us a little reckless, especially if we’re not used to it. Under the influence of a substance (which of course depends on other factors like quantity, mood, relationship with the partner), some are more likely to make lax decisions, like having unprotected sex, for example. Yeah, don’t do that. I’ve personally never found that marijuana impairs my good judgment, but if you’re not familiar with weed, it’s best to exercise caution and moderation, for sure.
Bottom line: know yourself, know your weed, and less is (usually) more. And most importantly, have a great day. old“time, lovers.
