Review: The Magic in the TERLUS Alien Dildo

TERLUS is a stylish alien dildo with a thick expansion designed to lock inside the user. It’s a nice-looking design, but I honestly have no idea what the texture will look like, and I’m really curious about how the swelling will feel when used.

Maybe it’s the design itself. Maybe it’s just the size. Whatever it is, it exceeded my expectations and might just be my favorite inflatable dildo.

Design and specifications

Based in the Czech Republic/Czech Republic, Magic Within’s crafts feature stunning engraved designs and extremely detailed hand-painting. Their toys feature mechanical and alien themes, with crisp sculpted details that enhance the sense of fantasy. I have reviewed their MERCIO, CEPHALLUS and ÅLTHORION before.

Designed and sculpted by freelance artist Deviant Gardens (who also sculpted Daybreak), TERLUS is an alien dildo (inspired by the popular video game Aliens) with prominent swells and intense curves. The tip is thin and the head is small, quickly widening into a large swell, then tapering just above the base, allowing the swell to lock in. It’s moderately textured, with a few clusters of bumpy texture and vertically overlapping boards near the base.

Every store has a different sizing system. The Magic Within’s small size is actually quite small, thinner and shorter than an average-sized penis. My TERLUS is extra large, with a usable length of 7 inches and a maximum girth of 7.4 inches. This size is similar to some of my medium swells, so while “extra large” sounds intimidating, it’s within my size range.

In the medium hardness of 00-50, it has some squeeze, but considerable resistance. The surface is smooth with a smooth feel and semi-gloss appearance that shows off the color well.

When I asked Magic Within for colors for other toys, I was aiming for fantasy realism. This time, I just wanted something pretty, so I asked for a three-color gradient and hand-painted glitter on the base. I gave them a few options and asked them to surprise me. The result is a gorgeous sunset-style pour that gradients from light purple at the bottom to orangey-pink in the middle and gold at the top, with white glitter at the bottom that glows in the dark.

XL TERLUS solid color pours start at €120 ($140). A customization like mine with three main colors, glow-in-the-dark and a solid hand-painted pattern will cost €180 ($210). Hand painting requires a lot of skill to get the technique right (it needs to be painted inside the toy mold before pouring in other colors, otherwise the painted color may peel off), so be prepared for a hefty markup if you ask for it.

Magic Within is able to paint all the details on TERLUS in a realistic way (see the designer’s stunning custom copy), but painting details on the higher parts of the toy is more expensive because it’s difficult to paint deep inside the mold and may not work in all sizes or on all orders.

For single color customizations, Magic Within works with the customer to determine which pigments to use, so there are many options.

In addition to the TERLUS, I also received a CHIP cat squishy and a satin storage bag.

In use (vagina)

The feel of TERLUS is exactly what I imagine a perfect knot to feel like. This may seem odd considering how swollen it is, but when I ignore the visual shape, it’s full of fantasy in use: a slender tip, a thick section that takes some effort to push in, and a really nice lock that lets me feel full without having to secure it inside. I’ve mentioned before that some waves are similar to knots, but none of my other waves are that close.

Placing the underside of the TERLUS (outside of the expansion) against my front wall is the easiest way to insert it. With enough lube, once the expansion starts to set in, it will slide right in in one go. Once inside, It presses right on my G-spot And stretches me nicely. It was great to lie down and hold onto it as it pressed against my front wall in just the right way. The first time I did this, I honestly wasn’t sure if I was squirting the same liquid as when I squirted. It’s rare for me to get enough stimulation without having to move. The hardness ensures I never lose its presence inside me (which can happen when a dildo is too soft).

While I don’t need to move to enjoy TERLUS, it’s still nice to move. I like to push along the last few inches of the shaft, keeping the peak of expansion inside. It’s a little tedious to do because of the strength of the lock and the short base on that side, but it’s doable. If I really warm up and stretch, I can pop the expander in and out, repeatedly stretching myself and getting more friction. The base is very easy to hold and is partially push-in.

The texture on the bottom is very pleasing. I’m not sure if vertical textures would work for me, but the galvanized shapes are textured enough to feel really good; they’re not so overpowering that they’re uncomfortable, and they’re not so subtle that they’re lost or hard to define.

Flip to the other side, insertion is harder and the tip is uncomfortable. This may have something to do with my posterior fornix (which I’ve explored with a few toys); the TERLUS is long enough for the tip to push past my depth limits.

Comprehensive

TERLUS has impressive swell and surprisingly good texture. It’s easy to hold, the extra-large size works perfectly for me, and the color matches Magic Within’s excellent track record. I reach for it when I want something more filled than the knot. This is by far my favorite dildo from Magic Within, and it might just be my favorite inflatable dildo.
