Review: Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride

Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride

The recent rise of grinders has caused quite a conundrum for sex toy retailers. Popularised by independent manufacturers, and typically featuring a fantasy twist, these products are not the sort of thing bigger retailers usually stock. Plus, because of their hand-made nature, most don’t have the ability to vibrate, at least not without an external bullet. And since many retailers only sell vibrating toys (or those that offer another form of electronic stimulation), because that’s generally what consumers want, it has meant looking for alternatives to meet the current demand. In the past I reviewed one such grinder-vibrator hybrid, the Vibe Pad, and now today I am doing it all over again for Eden Fantasys’ new Vibro Ride!

Product Description

At first glance, you’d think the Vibe Pad and Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride are the same toy. Both work as a seated vibrating pad, which can be used either as a stationary clitoral vibe or as a grinder. And both feature two points of stimulation, with raised vibrating areas for both the clitoris and anus, creating a saddle-like shape. But once these similarities are out of the way, you’ll notice the two toys are actually quite different. Whilst the Vibe Pad came with a remote control, which was actually essential because the only other button was underneath the toy, the Vibro Ride instead has a handy button right at the front of its body. Plus, the Vibro Ride is smaller with its width of 26.5cm / 10.4″ by 13.7cm / 5.4″, as whilst the Vibe Pad is surrounded by a very thin layer of silicone, Eden Fantasys’ have instead opted for a thicker pad with less surface area. Then, whilst its secondary anal hump is smaller than the Vibe Pad’s at just 2cm / .79″ in height, the primary hump is about level at 5cm / 1.97″, and also features prominent ribbing for some additional texture, another point of difference from its competitor’s smooth body. Covered entirely in body-safe silicone, this is then silky to the touch and comes in just one colour, red, and although the pad itself has some flexibility, the humps are quite firm. Finally, near the single button you’ll find the magnetic charging plates as the toy is USB rechargeable, and it is also fully waterproof for cleaning and bathroom play.

Packaging

My order with Eden Fantasys for the Vibro Ride was placed on the 16th of February and it arrived on the 27th. The package was then 100% discreet, with no mention of the sender or the contents. The box for the toy itself was quite nice, especially when compared to what the Eden Fantasys Wonder came in, which I received at the same time. Semi-discreet, with just a stylized drawing on the front and a few brief bits of information about what’s contained within, this box can then be opened up to reveal the toy resting in a plastic shell. With it, you’ll just find a charging cord and instruction manual.

Charging

A pretty big seam is located on the bottom of the Vibro Ride, however since this is almost always face down, it is quickly forgotten.

Charging the Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride is easy as it is USB rechargeable. Simply plug one end of the cord into the hole on the back of the toy, and then place the other end over the metal plates on its underside, so that the two can connect magnetically. Do be careful though, as the connection strength here isn’t the strongest, and so they can become easily disconnected. Plus, this is made slightly more tricky by the fact that the indicator light, which will flash during charge and become solid upon completion, is located under the button on the other side of the toy. Charging should then take around three hours to provide one hour of play, and Eden Fantasys recommend charging the Vibro Ride before every use.

Controls

The Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride has just one button from which to control its nine vibration modes. This is located at the top front of the toy, so that during play it’ll be right below you. To turn on the toy, simply hold down the button, which will place the Vibro Ride on its first steady speed. There are then three steady speeds to choose from, as well as six additional patterns, and once complete the toy will continue to cycle through them. When you’re done, you can then turn it off by holding the button down again. All in all a very simple and straightforward system.

I’m not sure what that symbol means or if it’s just decorative, but it is the Vibro Ride’s single button.

First Impressions

Turning the Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride on for the first time, I was certainly impressed by the vibrations contained within. Both motors are quite powerful, although with the smaller one understandably being the weaker of the two, and feature a good amount of rumble, even at their higher speeds. I also find them much stronger than the Vibe Pad, which is a big bonus. Although this is all a bit of a double-edged sword, because these vibrations also mean that the Vibro Ride is loud. Not only an increase from the volume of the Vibe Pad, this is easily one of the loudest sex toys I have used, and things only get worse when it is placed down. Unfortunately this has made my testing a little bit awkward, as I can’t help but wonder whether my neighbours can hear it.

My Experience

As with the Vibe Pad, you have to be strategic about where you use the Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride. This is because you need your vulva to be straight down for everything to be positioned properly, rather than facing forwards like it is when you typically sit down. Recently I’ve been using the Liberator Jaz with all my grinders, so that was also my first thought when I got the Vibro Ride. Yet whilst it works well, the hard cushion seems to further amplify the noise, and also doesn’t feel as comfortable as I was hoping. So after looking back at my review of the Vibe Pad to see how I went about it then, I switched to using it on the corner of my bed, so that my legs can hang over the edge. This works much better, with the noise becoming slightly muffled by my bed’s blankets, and increased contact on my vulva improving stimulation.

Turning it on, I’m even more amazed at the vibrations. They are so strong, that when I put my full body weight on it, it feels a bit like I’m sitting on a washing machine, because my entire body vibrates, right down to my teeth! This is so intense it can sometimes even be too much, but thankfully with a bit of adjustment I can focus the vibrations on my vulva instead. The downside though is that between the primary motor being so strong and the secondary hump being so small, the anal stimulation on the Vibro Ride gets completely lost. And whilst I think it probably does still contribute to the overall experience, it certainly does so less than on the Vibe Pad, where both motors can be easily discerned. However, my biggest criticism of this toy has to be how firm the silicone is, as it can be quite uncomfortable to rub against. Now, that being said, the Vibe Pad has the same firmness, and it wasn’t something I complained about in that review. But it is the ridges that make all of the difference here, as the density is much more noticeable in their hard corners, especially compared to the Vibe Pad’s smooth surface. Overall though, the Vibro Ride is still very much a fun toy and certainly the more powerful of the two, which greatly helps to make up for any issues.

Cleaning & Care

Cleaning the Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride is easy since it is waterproof. Simply wipe it down with some warm soapy water, rinse, and then leave to air dry. Plus, you may not even need to do that, as this toy can be used while clothed and is also perfect for spray cleaners after light use. Additionally, since this toy is made out of silicone you won’t be able to use silicone-based lubricants with it, as they may negatively affect the material.

Final Thoughts

The Eden Fantasys Vibro Ride is another great example of a seated vibrator, and it quickly separates itself from similar toys with its powerful vibrations. I was initially unsure if it could live up to the standard set by the Vibe Pad, particularly due to its lack of remote control, which was essential for controlling that toy. But with its considered button placement, controlling it was a breeze, and if anything I preferred it this way. Of its issues, there were three that really stood out to me, although thankfully these will be mostly subjective. First was its noise level, which made me feel a bit like I was announcing to the neighbourhood what I was doing. Then, the firmness of the clitoral hump was just not for me, especially since I have been testing and enjoying so many softer grinders recently. And finally, there was the almost complete lack of anal stimulation from the secondary motor, especially compared to the Vibe Pad, which far better emphasised the dual-stimulation aspect of this style of toy. Overall, this is definitely still a good option for those who think the above problems aren’t going to be a issue for them, and it’s also worth pointing out that whilst the two toys are very similar in price, Eden Fantasys frequently have sales which see the Vibro Ride go for a whopping 50% OFF, making this a real bargain if you can grab it at that price.

You can get the Vibro Ride directly from Eden Fantasys for just $244 AUD / $155.99 USD!
