I saw an interesting couple interaction at church today. The husband took the kids to Sunday school after church. When he came back, he sat down just one chair away from his wife. He pointed to the air conditioning vent in front of the chair he was sitting on and silently explained it to his wife. The wife didn’t do much, but a micro expression showed that she wasn’t too happy with him putting his comfort level ahead of hers. So he walked over to her and she smiled slightly.

You can interpret this interaction in many ways. You can say she should move, or that she’s trying to be manipulative. What I see is a man who read the situation well and chose to put his wife first. I imagine she felt the same way.

Sometimes the wisest and most loving thing to do is to accept the reality in your wife’s heart and take action.
