Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag

The Lipstick Vibrator is a member of the mini vibrator family. These little guys are designed to be as discreet as possible, so you can keep them in your bedroom (or handbag) and no one will know… unless your friends borrow some without permission…

You’ll find yourself faced with two categories of stuff – ones that are very expensive, and ones that are likely to fall apart after a few uses (i.e. suitable for gag/bachelor party gifts, etc.)

There’s nothing wrong with either approach. Just be careful who you buy from. Reputable sellers should have some sort of warranty or replacement policy.

If it’s Amazon, know that there are winners and losers in the market… and you get what you pay for. Don’t expect a $5 purchase to work miracles – expect it to work once, maybe twice, and then it won’t work.

What to look out for

  • Energy Source– Battery or USB chargers have their own pros and cons, but USB is usually (at least slightly) better.
  • Material – Most are silicone or ABS plastic (both are safe). There will be some that have questionable or “generic” ingredients (like intermediate gel, etc.). If this is the case, contact the seller to confirm its true ingredients. You can also do a “burn test” (silicone will not melt, but will just leave a black stain or a layer of ash that can be wiped off – plastic will melt).
  • speed – Some have only one speed, while others have multiple speeds or even multiple modes. Generally speaking, the cheaper options have fewer. Keep in mind that most women prefer a steady speed over multiple modes.
  • Vibrator – Strong, weak, buzzing, rumbling (all sound different). Most people prefer rumbling. Remember, the smaller the toy, the less room they have to use parts and the fewer places to fit a good motor.

What makes LIP VIBES unique

First of all, don’t expect it to blow your mind (power queens probably won’t like these). Like I said before, the compact design of the toy means you can’t fit a big vibrator inside, and they’re naturally going to be weaker than their bigger brothers. So, when someone says “Wow! That’s really powerful!”, take it with a grain of salt.

The same goes for “quiet”. The cheaper the gadget, the louder it is.

Second, they are designed for the clitoris. Forget about insertion.

Finally…cleaning. Liquids will hide in a lot of places (more than other toys), so you’ll need to spend a few extra minutes cleaning it. Warm water and soap or toy cleaner will work.

Lipstick Vibrator Review

TENGA’s Iroha Stick ($22)

Statistics: Silicone, battery powered, variable speed, 1 year warranty

Review: Tenga’s products are generally good and reasonably priced. They offer a warranty on their products, which is what makes me buy their products over others. Although it doesn’t matter, I like the salmon color (most products are bubblegum pink or hooker red).

Lipstick Vibrator ($4.50)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962660 700 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag

statistics: Medical “non-toxic” gel, battery powered

Review: There have been a lot of complaints about breakage, and mixed feelings about it – some people love it, some hate it. What worries me most is the lack of important details. We can assume it only has one speed, but it’s a big red flag when they don’t tell us what it’s made of. But what do you expect for five bucks? I wouldn’t bring it within five feet of my vagina.

Kenya G-SPOT Lipstick Vibrator ($34)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962660 171 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag

Statistics: ABS plastic and medical grade “non-toxic” gel, battery operated, waterproof, single speed.

Review: Does this look familiar? It should be the same product as before, but a store in Kenya has slapped a price tag on it for $34 (at least that’s the current exchange rate from Kenyan shillings to dollars at the time of writing this article.)

This is another example of how unethical some sellers are (or they just don’t care about pawning white brand).

They say “phthalate free” because they know that’s the new search term people are looking for. Those words don’t actually tell us what it’s made of and if it’s porous. Yet another one to avoid… or burn.

My Secret Lipstick Vibrator ($24)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962660 427 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag
Statistics: Silicone + elastomer blend, four function settings, 80 minutes of use on one set of batteries, waterproof.

Review: Screaming O invested money into its product videos, which is a good sign.

But you need to be careful – the elastomer blend will be porous.

Scream lip balm ($7.40)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962660 414 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag

Statistics: Single speed, maybe ABS? No instructions.

Review: I’m not sure why they would outright call it “reusable” unless it’s a party gag gift (but the company isn’t known for that).

Maybe it’s a way of getting around the fact that it might break after one or two uses? I just know some sites have discontinued it. Honestly, I’d buy the lipstick first, then the lip balm.

Mini MAX’s Daydream ($8.50)

Statistics: Waterproof, multi-speed, batteries included.

Review: I don’t like that they don’t tell us what it’s made of. Maybe ABS. People either rave about it or despise it (they’d probably give it 0/5 if they could).

This is definitely a “caveat emptor” thing.

Kandi Kiss ($69)

Review: This is one of the higher-end products. The tip is said to be soft, but not very springy (if that’s important to you). The vibration is also described as “very buzzy,” which may be a good thing for some people but a bad thing for others.

I leave it all up to you. However, considering it’s nearly $70, I recommend making sure the store has a return policy in addition to the warranty.

Instant split ($25)

Review: I’m not very happy with this one. It was shipped from Hong Kong, the details were not accurate, and the price was not cheap.

I would stay away from it.

Multi-speed lipstick vibrator ($13)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962661 144 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag

Statistics: Silicone and ABS plastic, splash-proof, multiple speeds, battery powered

Review: I like that they are straightforward with all the details. Plus, silicone is always a safe choice. For the price, it’s definitely worth a try.

Mia Language 2 ($85)

Lipstick vibrators – they’ll never know what’s in your bag 1721962661 922 Lipstick vibrators – theyll never know whats in your bag

statistics: USB charging, ABS, 6 speeds and 5 modes, waterproof, 1 year warranty

Review: Lelo does everything. They also charge a lot. Even though I may not like their products, it would be much better to buy from them than other sellers…if you can afford the high prices.
