The impact of early trauma on adult life behavior is well documented. Since the mid-1990s, therapists have known that neglect and abuse suffered in childhood and adolescence can and does affect our adulthood. Our sense of identity, self-worth, attachment and ability to build relationships, worldviews and even health are affected by early life trauma. Moreover, the more trauma we suffer in childhood, the more diverse and unfavorable our late reactions will be.
For example, a well-known study shows that people who have experienced four or more major traumatic experiences before the age of 18 (such as divorce, death of parents, death of serious accidents or illness, serious accidents or illness, abandonment, negligence, witness violence, etc.) are:
- The probability of smoking is 1.8 times
- 1.9 times fat
- 2.4 times the ongoing anxiety
- 2.5 times the panic reaction
- 3.6 times more frustrated
- 3.6 times more qualified
- 6.6 times more engaged in early life sex
- The likelihood of alcoholism is 7.2 times
- Become 11.1 times more than an intravenous drug addict
Numerous other studies have also found an undeniable connection between the experience of early trauma and numerous adult life symptoms and diseases. In short, children who deal with neglect and abuse (emotional, psychological, physical, sexual, sexual, etc.) will try their best to adapt and cope. Often, especially if adults cannot trust in supporting them in a healthy way throughout their lives (usually because of adult addiction, inconsistency or perpetrators of trauma), these children will turn to emotionally distracted substances or behaviors such as eating, alcohol, drugs, drugs, drugs, drugs, cigarettes, pornography, pornography, etc.
These coping abilities tend to enter their lives as adults, negatively affecting their physical, emotional, psychological and relationship well-being in the above ways. Often, individuals engage in these undesirable coping behaviors despite negative consequences. They do this without connecting these points to their childhood and unresolved trauma, which keeps them away from people and moving towards material and behavior.
There is no doubt that early trauma has a significant and long-term impact on the person who experiences it. The most obvious manifestations are often addiction and serious psychological disorders. Less obvious signs may include things like tendencies to favor, feelings of constant disappointment, and outbreaks of anger or other strong emotions. It is worth noting that over time, these less obvious manifestations may harm the individual (and those around you) just as much as the more obvious symptoms.
