Lesbian Sex Toys

I work at a sex shop and was recently contacted by a queer magazine about writing a piece on lesbian sex toys. They wanted to feature some toys, but also wanted to write about the differences in preferences between different generations. When they wrote a similar piece about gay men’s toys, they were told that older men generally prefer more realistic-looking dildos, while younger men generally prefer toys that look more abstract. I thought about it, and while I can identify a general trend, my take is that it has more to do with individual preference and less to do with age. So my question is: do you think this trend also exists among lesbians? Or do you think that lesbians in general prefer less realistic-looking dildos to remove the “masculine aspect” from their sexuality? Or is it just a completely personal thing, as I suspect? Also, what are your favorite lesbian sex toys?
