There are a variety of glove styles you can incorporate into your kink game. Some are very common, others are… well… keep reading to learn more…
medical
Yep. Good old doctor’s gloves. These gloves are great (and a must-have for any kink collection) if you’re handling bodily fluids via fingering, fisting, or anything else you want to keep clean. It’s also great for medical roleplay.
emulsion
No, it’s not the medical latex we just mentioned. It’s the “fashion” latex.
These are a higher quality material and you can polish them up with lubricant or latex polish. They can be used for fluid play (remember they are not the same as medical gloves) because they are very slippery with the lubricant added. Some people also get really obsessed with them.
You can buy them online or have them custom made – from opera gloves to cute fingerless palm covers.
eraser
Now we’re going to get into some of the heavy lifting.
Just like latex, some people have a special fetish for the material. It’s like latex on steroids – and it often appears in more hardcore medical role play or BDSM scenes.
leather
Not really great for liquids (harder to clean), but more for feel (if someone likes leather), or various role plays like kidnapping, etc. It can be soft, or threatening.
Sensory
Technically, this can be any glove material – as long as the catcher likes the feel.
There are also fur, wool, etc. One of my favorites is the “vampire gloves” – leather gloves with little spikes on them.
Decorative
You can make BDSM gloves out of anything as long as it fits the scene. Medical gloves for role play, silk or lace gloves for sexiness, fishnet gloves for cheap or punk style, animal gloves for pet play, and so on.
Bondage
We don’t count wrist restraints. Instead, there are generally two types of restraint gloves… Claw Gloves (pets playing) or Arm Fixer Including hands.
If you’re on a budget, you can also accomplish the same effect with plastic wrap, duct tape, or even masking tape. If you have a little more money to spend, or you’re looking for something reusable, then bondage tape is the best option.
Electronic stimulation
Use your fingertips to glide along your partner’s skin, stimulating their muscles to spasm and twitch (to the degree they like), and then let the e-stim do the rest.
Keep in mind, these are not toys you can jump into and require a lot of reading on safety.
Texture
I don’t know what else to call them. They’re gloves (usually made of rubber) with a different texture on each finger, and you use them to stimulate your partner – inside or outside, your choice.
If you can find one made of silicone, this is a better choice than rubber (since it’s less porous and easier to keep clean).
