Is Technology Fueling Your Addiction?

Only those things that you would rather die unfinished can be put off until tomorrow.
As both scientific studies and anyone who has attended a few years of 12-step sex recovery meetings can attest, with every advance in digital technology, more and more people are challenged by sex and porn addiction. Consider that studies conducted in the 1980s showed that 3 to 5 percent of adult males suffered from sex addiction. By 1999, that percentage had nearly doubled to 8.5 percent. Today, while we don’t have updated percentages from researchers, it’s clear that sex and porn addiction continues to escalate. Simply put, as digital technology gives us highly affordable, mostly anonymous, and nearly instant access to potentially addictive sexual images, activities, and partners, sex and porn addiction have become more problematic and prevalent. Today, it’s hard to find a sex or porn addict who hasn’t participated in online sexual behavior in some way.
