Sexist Name-calling: A Sign of Fear and Desperation in Insecure Men By: Childless Cat Lady Feminist Sex Expert

Feminist experts have observed that when sexist, backward-minded people are intimidated or even outright scared by powerful women, they often use name-calling as a pathetic tool in an attempt to dominate. In an effort to send women back to their place — that is, back to the kitchen — they try to shame and humiliate them by using boring, annoying, and uncreative epithets.

I first learned this in school, when junior feminist pundits were repeatedly labeled “feminazis”—an unpleasant nickname first coined by conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh. It seemed that whenever bullies couldn’t come up with an intelligent rebuttal to feminist beliefs, they uttered ridiculous epithets like “feminazi” because—frankly—they had nothing better or more intelligent to say.

Years later, when I edited the memoirs of a Holocaust survivor for very little pay and allowed this wonderful gentleman to tell his story, I couldn’t help but wonder how much of a Nazi I really was.

Then, while serving as the proud president (aka Possemeister) of Playgirl Posse (the official fan club of Playgirl magazine and PlaygirlTV), the husband of one of my members thought I should have a professional nickname in addition to Possemeister.

“My husband says you’re a single woman with corrupt morals,” she told me, laughing.

translate: This woman encourages my wife to enjoy and demand more sex and to admire nude photos of men who are overall much sexier than me. She must be destroyed as soon as possible.

I asked my friend to pass on my thanks to her husband for giving me such a cool new nickname, and wondered aloud if the phrase would be suitable for a T-shirt.

Years later, I’m still at my post. Still fighting for women’s freedom, including their sexual freedom. With ultra-conservative politicians taking away our bodily freedoms and still denying us basic rights like equal pay for equal work, we all have to fight harder than ever for equality and empowerment.

In fact, one of them denounced women in power as “childless cat ladies” who have nothing to do with the future of our country.

So, in honor of these amazing women, let’s take a look at some famous childless cat ladies in pop culture history.

Catwoman: Played over the years by Issa Kitt, Julie Newmar, Halle Berry, Lee Meriwether, Anne Hathaway, and many others, Catwoman is one of the first female Supergirls and — if you think about it — the Ultimate Catwoman, catching Batman off guard with her sheer powers.

Ripley, the Alien: In addition to being one of the most powerful female heroes in science fiction history, Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley is also the proud cat mom of Jonesy – a fierce cat who remains steadfastly loyal to the intergalactic warrior woman.

Captain Marvel: The invincible female superhero Captain Marvel has many super powers, as does her world-dominating right-hand man, the lovable goose.

We can also reference the many real-life childless cat ladies who have changed the world—including Betty White, Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift. As for feminist sex experts, I have no biological children—not even cats—though I am the proud aunt of various human and animal children. I am also a community reporter, and my journalism has raised thousands of dollars in donations for charities that provide food, clothing, and education to children.

While I’m always happy to pet a cute kitten, I would never scratch one.
