She felt he put his social media career under House arrest.
Many blame social media for interfering in their lives, but for some, the opposite is true. A woman in India claimed her husband’s housework request cuts her influencer duties after her Instagram follower declined.
Independent report: “I don’t have time to make reels.”
The woman is from Hasstone in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, and she is actively present on social media platforms, with up to two videos reportedly uploading every day.
News18 reported that her husband Vijendra urged her to call her Instagramming and focus more on trivia.
When Nisha was obliged, her Instagram page lost two followers, which she blamed on her husband.
“When I was busy with hand washing and cleaning the house for my husband, my followers turned it down,” Deccan Herald reported.
After a heated argument, Nisha left and stayed with her parents in Pilkhuwa town where she filed the aforementioned police complaint.
However, her husband raised an objection, claiming that her social media addiction has made her ignore her own housework.
He also accuses Nisha of threatening to leave him if she does not allow the reel to be released.
“We stepped in to mediation when the husband introduced him to the side and the couple got consulted,” Aruna Rai, station house officer at the station, told the Independent, adding that the woman has since withdrawn her complaint.
According to News 18, although the issue has been resolved legally, the couple reportedly still live together.
Meanwhile, the consequences of marital problems have caused Vijendra to lose his job, and he is reportedly working to find a new job.
