How to make suction better

I have just purchased a strap-on and dildo, and the dildo has a hard time staying attached to the base of the strap-on, its very loose, and falls off very easily. The suction worse fine on hard flat surfaces, was wondering what i could do to make the suction better or is it a lost cause.
