Gratitude makes what we have enough.
Researcher Brené Brown has been studying happiness for nearly 20 years, conducting in-depth interviews with thousands of people. Over the years, she’s discovered a striking difference between happy and unhappy people: Happy people are grateful for what they have. Whatever they have, they are grateful for. Instead of focusing on what they don’t have, or what they might not have, or how dire their future looks, they focus on the present moment and the blessings in their lives. So whenever we feel stressed or blue, especially during the holidays, we can pause and create a short gratitude list. Nothing beats gratitude to chase away the holiday blues faster.
