Generation Z chooses partners through wealth, not just love

Love at first sight, forgetting love – For Gen Z, this is the love in the first bank statements.

The 2025 romance looks less like a rom-com, but more like a merger – Generation Z brings relationships like corporate mergers, not just feelings, but a censored asset.

Generation researcher Dr. Eliza Filby recently told Newsweek: “Wealth is becoming increasingly important in marriage.”

“Inheritance: Now is the time to talk about Mom and Dad Bank, this is a merger of the two Mom and Dads. This is a merger of the dynasty.”

What if your dynasty didn’t pile up a generation of dollars? You may find yourself both financially and romantically ghostly.

“While we once believed in the elite, education and hard work naturally lead to prosperity and times are changing,” Philby said.

It seems that Gen Z is not only looking for “one” – they are looking for “people with trust funds.”
