Shame won’t survive when we share our stories.
Overcoming the ingrained stigma of driving and porn addiction is the process of learning shame and its triggers, and then learning to “reality check” the shame we feel ashamed by contacting others and gaining compassion because they hear our shame and feel ashamed of us. Needless to say, this is easier said than done. In fact, most of us would rather eat dirt than talk about our sense of shame. That said, healing from shame requires vulnerability, which is the courage to support others and share our darkest secrets.
Today’s mission
Either talk about your shame or eat some dirt. One person will make you feel better; the other will not.
