Words have power. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

I have seen so many marriages broken up because of language. I find it particularly sad that confusion about the meaning of a word can cause problems. I have seen couples fight because they have completely different definitions of a word, and they often don’t even realize that this is the problem.

Just because you and your wife share a common vocabulary doesn’t mean you share a common language. Always check your definitions!
