‘Dr. Butthole reveals warning signs that may be caused
That’s really bad!
Anal cancer is increasing, especially among white and Hispanic women over the age of 65. According to the American Cancer Society, the lifelong risk of developing anal cancer is about one in 500, which predicts about 11,000 new cases and 2,000 deaths this year.
New York City-based anal surgeon Dr. Evan Goldstein is commonly known as Dr. Butthole and “The Bottom Whisperer.”
“Anal cancer stems from the HPV virus, and for many people, anal cancer stems from the development of anal warts,” Goldstein, founder and CEO of Customized Surgery and Future Methods, told The Post.
About 90% of anal cancers are associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
HPV is a group of more than 200 related viruses that are mainly transmitted through skin contact.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 85% of people will get HPV at some point.
Certain HPV strains are known to cause anal warts – these benign growths can be difficult to distinguish.
They may be represented as a single dent in anal area or in a cauliflower-like cluster. Most are lifted, but some are flat.
“Many people think they are just skin tags and then find out that it is an anal wart of HPV,” Goldstein said. “Batt Cometer: Butt: All the authoritative guides on anal health, pleasure and in between,” Goldstein said.
“They can be painful and itchy and cause bleeding.”
Some patients have no symptoms and may not know that they have anal warts.
Treatment includes topical medications, cryotherapy or surgical resection.
The body’s immune system usually clears HPV infection naturally within a few years, but some persist.
Chronic infection with certain high-risk HPV can lead to changes in anal cells, which can lead to precancerous lesions. If left untreated, they can develop into invasive anal cancer.
Symptoms of anal cancer include rectal bleeding, lumps near the anus, pain or pressure in the anus area, itching or discharge of the anus, and changes in bathroom habits.
In the early stages, there may be no obvious symptoms.
“The idea is to detect early detection of anal pap smears and complete partitions (visualized with camera and high resolution range) through appropriate anal practitioners.”
Anal cancer is usually highly treated when detected early. The five-year survival rate after diagnosis hovers around 64%.
Prevention is the key. Goldstein said all teenagers should get Gardasil 9, a series of shots that can prevent certain types of HPV infections.
The researchers believe that the recent surge in anal cancer in older women may be due to the age of recommended HPV inoculation when these women were widely used in 2006.
Goldstein also recommends seeing anal experts, especially in anal games for internal and external evaluations and anal smears that can detect changes in lining cells in the anal canal.
“The more we talk about [anal health] And standardize annual assessments, similar to gynecological appointments, the better we will all be. ” he said.
