In our Perfect Days column, we ask famous bosses to share how they can spend their ideal day in their hometown.

Originally from Germany, Annie Ziesmann is a photographer, photographer and digital content creator, too Tokyo weekend Editorial team. She is famous in the office because she is completely black in the closet and everything is fine. She also runs an Instagram account dedicated to Japanese architecture.

That’s how she had a perfect day in Tokyo.

My perfect day in Tokyo was…

On a perfect day I had to see too much to stop for a nice breakfast so I first had to pick up an Onigiri from Kombini. Then I’m going to Central Tokyo. I might go Swwat In Kameari, a beautifully designed art and architecture center located under the railroad tracks; I spent hours browsing books and records and had matcha lattes. Or, or, I’ll go Edono Open-air Architecture Museum In Koganei, stroll through different eras of Japanese architecture.

In the afternoon, back in the city center, I would have coffee from one of my favorite attractions: Nadoya no Katte Located in Shibuya, in a renovated traditional Japanese house with a small garden area, or Cornell Coffee In Akasaka. It is set on the second floor of the Sogetsu Kaikan building (designed by Kenzo Tange) and enjoys views of the stone garden created by Isamu Noguchi.

I will spend the rest of my time with the cafes and museums in and around Yanaka, known for its nostalgic atmosphere. I suggest kayaaba coffeethe retro cafe in Tatami upstairs is famous for its egg sandwiches. Hachanju Ynaka Chunaka. Great too – it is located in a renovated 150-year-old flower shop. After that, I’ll stop Scai the Bathhousea contemporary art gallery in a former public bathroom of 200 years old.

I’ll go out in Shibuya for dinner. I’ll either go Takamaru Denki – Neon lights, stainless steel counters, friendly staff – or Torawith a relaxing atmosphere and delicious Izakaya dishes. After that, I will jump in Ebisu, from Ebisu Yokochoand then move to many wonderful cocktail bars nearby:

The most freshest secret in Tokyo is…

Star van karaoke. These retro attractions are dedicated to songs from before the 2000s (City Pop, 80s folk). This turned the night into a time sheet, adding to locals who have been singing the same favorites for decades.

What I’ve always wanted to try is…

I don’t know if “want to try” is the correct term, but I’ve always been interested Marina Abramovic in Niigata’s “House of Dreams”. You stay there overnight, sleeping in a horrible coffin bed.
