It turns out that Saturday was really Wednesday.
Saturday night at 10:09pm is the most popular time for people to have sex, a new global study has revealed.
Luxury lingerie retailer Pour Moi conducted a survey of 2,000 sexually active adults around the world to understand human sexual habits.
43% of respondents said Saturday is their favorite day to do something weird and the day they are most likely to do something weird.
Friday came in second, accounting for 22% of respondents, followed by Sunday and Thursday, with 10% and 6% respectively.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the early days of the week were less appealing. Monday was the least popular day of the week for sex, with just 2% of respondents naming it as their top choice.
The study found that late night is the most popular time for sex, with 10:09 p.m. being the most sexually active time.
The time respondents were least likely to have sex was on weekday afternoons, so those who preferred to have sex on weekday afternoons were in the rare category.
Monday at 1:02 p.m. is considered the least sexually active time of the week.
In addition, the lingerie experts also analyzed the frequency of people’s sex lives, with nearly half of the respondents (48%) saying they have sex with someone once a week.
A smaller number of people said they had sex more frequently, with 19% having sex twice a week, 13% three times a week and 7% four times a week.
This proportion decreased as frequency increased, with only 1% of participants reporting engaging in sexual activity every day.

How long does it take for adults to like Having sex causes different responses in men and women.
Adults overall thought having sex twice a week was ideal, and men between the ages of 25 and 45 fell into the same category.
However, the study found that women of the same age group have the strongest sexual desire, and four times a week is the ideal number of sexual intercourse.
“As a sexy lingerie retailer, our goal is to enable as many people as possible to feel their best and most confident in sexy lingerie, whether enjoying it alone or with a partner,” Marina Nicoli, marketing manager at Pour Moi, said in a statement.
“So it’s really interesting to see how intimacy levels vary between people around the world, but also to know that weekend evenings seem to be the time when people feel most relaxed and most ready to spend quality time with their partner.”
