Am I doing something wrong?! (First time trying anal sex)

Hi, as the title says, this is my first time trying anal sex. I tried a butt plug for the first time and it took about 30 minutes to get it inserted. After a few minutes I pulled it out and noticed a small amount of blood! (a few drops) 😖 Did I do something wrong or was my butt plug too big? ! It didn’t really hurt me except for the feeling of a slight stretch in my anus. I was a little scared because I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
