Advice on anal plugs and lube

Don’t know why it’s seems a little daunting searching this reddit and the web for some good and concise information, but here I am. Wife and I want to explore some more anal play, and I figure the best first step is to get the good beginner but plugs plus lube. Most of the beginner plugs seem to be silicone so unsure of the lube to get. Any advice on like a combo plugs and appropriate lube for it would be greatly appreciated.
