Adolescents using artificial intelligence to do fake nudes

They turned technology into weapons – no one is safe from scandals.

Teens are using AI to whip up disturbing realistic nude photos of classmates and then share them like digital wildfires, sending shock waves through schools to keep experts worried about the worst.

AI-powered tools, often called “naked” applications, sound sinister. These apps are usually brought from yearbook photos or social media profiles – usually from yearbook photos or social media profiles – these apps can make obvious DeepFake images that look realistic.

Yes, this has happened at school.

These surreal images (forged with AI tools) are turning into high-tech nightmare.

“We are in a place where we are doing nothing, with stories and pictures about you,” Don Austin, principal of Palo Alto Unified School District, told Fox News Digital.

“They are made up. They are completely made up with AI, and it can carry your voice or face. This is another world.”

This is a mature digital crisis. Last summer, the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office sued 16 so-called “naked” sites for alleged violations of laws surrounding child exploitation and involuntary images.

In the first half of 2023, these websites alone added more than 200 million visits.

But should we seize the tech company behind these tools? It’s like playing whac-a moore’s game.

Most people have slipped through current state laws, although some, like Minnesota, have tried to pass legislation to hold them accountable for the damage they have caused.

Still, technology moves faster than law – the kids get caught in a firefight.

Smartsocial founder Josh Ochs, an organization that trains families online for security training, told Fox News Digital that AI-generated nudity has done “extreme harm” to teenagers across the country.

“The kids may upload a headshot of another child at school these days, and the app will reproduce the person’s body like a naked body,” Ochs revealed to the exit.

“It has done a great deal of harm to the child who may have appeared, especially their friends and the entire family,” he noted.

He said parents need to stop tipping their feet in their children’s digital lives and start laying some boundaries.

“It’s time to have a discussion early before giving your kids a phone call or social media. Hey, this is your borrower and I can take it back at any time because you’re really hurting our family.”

In February, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a bill that sets publishing (or even threatening to publish) as involuntary AI Deepfake porn.

Further action is now awaiting.

Austin said the only way to lead the curve is to talk to parents, teachers, students and anyone else who can listen.

“It’s not gone,” he warned. “It’s developing – fast.”
