An Inca grave of 24 people who may have died in the same conflict was discovered at an archaeological site in El Curaca in the Attico Valley in southern Peru. The collective tomb is a circular pit with stone walls that contains a wealth of tombs including pottery, carved bone objects, stone images and fine textiles. The pottery in the tomb identified it as belonging to the Chuquibamba (Aruni) culture.

They found many stone-lined graves with collective funerals with graves. They are now recording their findings, including recording 3D scans of skeletal remains, which will allow them to perform osteological examinations in detail without exposing the remains to damage.

As part of the ongoing project, the UWR team will perform DNA analysis of the relics to determine family relations and provide new insights into the culture in which Atico River Valley, who lived before Inca.
