Silicone gone bad?

I have a silicone toy that has what looks like cuts and scrapes on it. I have never used any lubricant and this toy has been in mint condition for years, cleaned with a silicone safe wash and lots of water. I clean it after every use and store it with my other silicone toys. This particular silicone is much softer than most, but this problem started overnight. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Do I need to throw it away? Thanks in advance.
