Am I alone again?
Whether you’re searching for love, finding pain on dating apps, kicking old habits or sinking into celibacy, your zodiac sign may determine how long you’ll spend in that sacred space of singleness.
Greek astrologer Ivy Underwood (aka @0degreesTaurus) identifies what she calls the “place of eternal loneliness” in the birth chart. These qualifiers indicate “It may take you a long time to find your soulmate, or you may not get married for a while.”
What are these so-called forever-alone arrangements? Do you have one? Read on to learn more.
Leo and Cancer
As Ivywood explains, “Leo and Cancer can experience long spells of singleness because Saturn rules your relationship sector, which means you’d rather be single than waste your time with someone who isn’t marriageable.”
To recap, the seventh house is the house of partnerships, also known as marriage. It represents our legally binding attachments.
So the presence of stern, attentive Saturn dad looms like an oppressive rain cloud over an old white picket fence.
Saturn is formative but not necessarily “fun,” which means that when it comes to marriage, you’re less likely to fool around with a questionable partner and find problems—and more likely to stick around until the end.
Meanwhile, Leos tend to choose partners who appear nice but aren’t actually that great for Cancerians tend to chase after people who need them in some way – the broken wings/co-dependency scenario leaves them exhausted and resentful.
Both rising signs mean learning to overcome these tendencies and eventually overcoming them. Bless you, darlings!
Saturn in the Seventh House
Similar to the Saturn-ruled seventh house, the planet’s stay there itself may amount to a waiting game.
“If you have Saturn in the seventh house, you may not find true love for a while,” Underwood explains. “People with Saturn here are often late bloomers in love and take a while to commit.”
Better to wait for gold, my friends, than to settle for tin.
Saturn bullies Venus
Saturn is the planet of limitations, delays, and karmic debts, while Venus is the planet of love and partnerships, so when these two form challenging aspects to each other, the game of love can be long and fraught with danger.
As Underwood elaborates, “If your Saturn is square or opposing Venus, you may not find true love for a while. Even if you are in a relationship, you may find that these people are not suitable for marriage and you don’t want to be with them long-term.”
Many astrologers suggest that those with challenging Venus/Saturn positions are better off waiting until after their Saturn Return to marry.
But whether it’s long or short term, divorce, third marriage, blood oath or just happy alone, it’s a love story, friends.
Am I finished?
Absolutely not.
These aspects don’t mean you’ll never find love or that you’re doomed to be alone, but they do suggest that love will experience sweetness and bitterness and may teach you some lessons that force you to upgrade—perhaps with a trade-off in your partner.
Besides, anyone who has ever waited in line for a delicious pastry will tell you that the longer you wait, the tastier the reward.
“These are just general guidelines,” Underwood assures. “There are dozens of other placements in your chart that can change your destiny.”
Since any pain or goal has its rewards, Underwood promised, “The good news is, when you finally find your significant other, you’ll be together for life.”
To be fair, friends, at the rate at which humans fail each other, a fate of being single and content is better than being fully engaged and complacent every time.
