Candida Diet – Can It Prevent Yeast Infections?
1.6K
Initially, it was just an article about “foods you can eat to help prevent yeast infections,” but then I saw the much hyped “Candida diet” – and it seemed drastic.
It also looks familiar.
Then I realized my doctor had put me on this medication years ago.
So, what we’re going to discuss today is a little different – quick and easy yeast infection info, a breakdown of the Candia diet, my own random experiences, a more relaxed list of foods to eat, and natural remedies to treat hoohaw, among other things.
1. Brief review
Any woman who has ever had a yeast infection, also known as candidiasis, will shudder at the name. It’s itchy, uncomfortable, and even downright painful. It can completely kill your libido, making sex impossible, and it can even be passed on to your partner (though it’s not considered an STI, as you can get it in other ways).
How to get them…
- Poor genital hygiene
- A humid climate (yeast likes humidity)
- antibiotic
- Pregnant
- Weak immune system
- diabetes
- Hormone imbalance
- Birth vs
- pressure
- lack of sleep
- Wearing underwear for more than one day
- Anatomy (vagina is close to anus
- Genital contact with sugar (chocolate sauce, candy underwear, flavored massage oils, etc.)
Why you get them…
It is caused by an imbalance of natural bacteria and yeast in the vagina (which occurs naturally). When the yeast gets out of control, the vagina will swell, become red, itchy, and start to burn. In addition to this, the vagina will also have a disgusting yellow discharge that looks like cottage cheese.
The most special problem is that the vagina is full of nerve endings, so any pain is amplified! Even peeing can bring tears to your eyes.
Preventing Yeast Infections
- Avoid douching, frequent hot showers, frequent soaking in hot pipes, tight clothing, and scented pads or tampons.
- Wear natural, breathable fabrics as much as possible
- Don’t wear underwear for more than a day
- Wash your underwear in hot water
- Change sanitary pads and tampons frequently
…and eat a balanced diet.
Food Factors That Cause Yeast Infections
The other suggestions are pretty easy to understand and not controversial, but food is such a big topic that it’s no wonder so many people have their opinions.
The general consensus is A balanced diet is enough.
This is also great advice for healthy living in general.
However…
What if you have these symptoms often? What if they are so persistent that you can’t lead a normal life?
Yes, yes See a doctor (Well) and pharmaciesBut when you are suffering, it is natural to want to do whatever you can to stop the pain.
This is where a stricter “eating plan” comes into play…
Level 3 Food Restrictions
Keep it as natural and healthy as possible.
Minor restrictions
- Eat a balanced diet, limit processed foods and reduce sugar.
- And plenty of water.
Moderately Restricted
- Cut out all unnatural sugars – soda, candy, sugar in coffee, alcohol, etc. Everything except natural honey and sugar in fruit (not canned, etc.) Also, stop eating processed foods.
- Eat unsweetened yogurt (can have natural fruit in it), whole grains, plenty of fruits and vegetables, nuts and healthy oils, etc.
- On the water, consider adding probiotics.
Height Restriction
This is where the “Candida Diet” comes into play. It is described as a “stricter Paleo diet.” (I won’t go into the entire food list as you can find very detailed food lists on many other websites – this is just an overview to give you an idea of what you will be dealing with).
- High-quality meat, eggs and fish
- Non-starchy vegetables
- Low sugar fruits
- Herbs, spices and salt to taste
- Low-mold nuts and seeds
- Healthy Oil
- Antifungal foods such as ginger, garlic, coconut oil, cinnamon, oregano, etc.
- Sugar-free beverages (herbal tea, water, unsweetened almond milk)
- Dairy Free
- All grains, even gluten-free
- Don’t eat beans
For example – Blueberries are good, but bananas are bad (bananas are high in sugar). Spinach is good, but yams are bad (yams are high in starch and therefore high in sugar).
How could I have done this without knowing it?
I used to have severe chronic yeast infections. I would go to the doctor and he would tell me what to do and what not to do, give me a prescription, and then send me home.
I am not criticizing the doctors. They tried their best. However, it did not stop the yeast infection. Leave foreverThat’s when a friend’s nutritionist came into my life. She took one look at my situation and put me on a strict diet plan that, in retrospect, was a selection of foods from what is now known as the Candida Diet.
The purpose is Minimize sugar intake – Try to give the yeast as little “eating” as possible. I can tell you one thing…
It’s so difficult!
I probably should have been put on homicide watch the first week. Mood swings, headaches, dizziness, nausea, etc. were common daily symptoms. The second week wasn’t much better.
However, by week 3, things started to improve, and by week 4 I was back to normal (even on the restricted food list).
Is it worth it? Will it work?

I guess it depends on you, your level of discipline, and your own unique health situation.
I am no I don’t endorse the Candida diet as a lasting lifestyle choice at all. But I do see the value in trying it for a month or two. You’re getting all your nutritional needs, and Cutting back on sugar/processed foods is never a bad thing.
I can also tell you…
When you are done start integrating the other fruits… the first banana will beThe sweetest thing you’ve ever tastedIt makes you realize how insensitive we are to sugar and how sweet natural fruit really is. It’s also a great detox to help you get back into better eating habits.
However…
If you are not ready to make this level of commitment, then Reduce undesirable or triggering foods Just do it as long as you feel comfortable.
For example – My improvement was not just due to the food I ate. Also, when I lived in China, the climate was very humid and no matter what I did, I still got infections frequently.
so…
If you’re suffering from that wonderful itchy burn we all know and hate, there’s a lot you can do besides taking medication. Your food choices can also be adjusted flexibly according to your needs yesbecause making some changes (like stopping all carbonated drinks) is better than making no changes at all.
We all know that what we eat affects us in many ways, so food can definitely affect your infection – but I find that everyone’s situation is unique.
