It’s hard for me to believe this, but Sex and Psychology is six years old today! When I began blogging in 2011, I had no idea where this journey would take me–but it’s been one amazing ride so far. I’m thrilled that Sex and Psychology has become a widely read and referenced resource for scientifically-based information about sex. I’m also humbled by all of the opportunities that have emerged as a result of this blog, including regular columns with publications like Playboy and VICE, as well as a major book on the science of sexual fantasy that’s set for release in 2018 (stay tuned for more!).

Thank YOU for your interest in the science of sex and everything you do to support this site, including reading and sharing the articles, submitting your questions, and weighing in with your comments. Sex and Psychology is the single most rewarding aspect of my professional career and I can’t imagine my life without it. I hope you’re looking forward to another year of great sex [research] as much as I am! In the meantime, here are some fun facts and statistics for your reading pleasure.

• Current number of social media followers across all channels: 37,300+ (up 15% from 2016). By the way, toward the end of 2017, I created my own YouTube channel. I FINALLY joined Instagram, too. Subscribe to me on YouTube for fun videos featuring sex facts and research and follow me on Instagram if you want to know what I do when I’m not writing about sex.

• Most popular article keyword (aside from sex, of course): a virtual tie between “sexual orientation” (included in 105 posts) and “orgasm” (included in 100 posts).

• Most read edition of Sex Question Friday in 2017: How Deep is the Average Vagina?

• Most watched sex research video on the blog in 2017: The Science Of Attraction (also the most watched video in 2015 and 2016). The runner-up was The South Korean Sex Industry

• Most read infographic on the blog in 2017: Characteristics of Gay and Bisexual Men with Foot Fetishes

Stay tuned for a countdown of the ten most read articles of the year. There are some truly fascinating entries on the list!

Thank you again for your continued support and readership of the blog!
