The very first IWD rally was organised over a century ago, in 1911, by women campaigning for better pay, shorter working hours and suffrage, and was supported by over a million people. That said, in the wake of the pandemic, the majority of in-person events have shifted to virtual webinars. One tangible benefit of this is that you may feel more empowered than ever to host your own online event! Virtual events offer great accessibility, eliminate the costs of a venue, travel, and accommodations, while still providing the opportunity for a truly unforgettable event. If you are like me and prefer to host in person, you can do that too.
