Would this work?

So, I currently have a box with some of my toys in it. I have towels stuffed between them so they don’t melt together (learned about that the hard way 😭). But on top of the box I have my most used toys just sort of laying out next to each other, with space between them. But I’d like to actually be able to store them, ya know? Would I be able to put them inside of old tube socks for storage? I know actual cotton or mesh laundry bags are typically the thing you should use, but would old socks work just as well?
