Women use the 6-6-6 dating rule to find their perfect partner

Women use the 6-6-6 dating rule to find their perfect partner

People are only now discovering what it means to have 6-6-6 on your dating profile. No, it’s not evil – but it may lead you to a perfectly suitable bachelor.

The 6-6-6 rule refers to men who are 6 feet tall, have six-pack abs, and make over 6 figures.

Some women claim to use this rule to find men who meet their requirements and help narrow down the seemingly endless field of potential matches on dating apps.

While a variety of dating apps appear to help young people find their soulmate, the endless possibilities of swiping right make it harder for many young people to settle down.

Especially since rules like the 6-6-6 rule make it difficult for most men to meet the standards.

In fact, a recent survey by dating app Flirtini found that a whopping 80% of women are willing to lower their standards to find a partner.

Experts do recommend that daters should be more careful when deciding what apps to use and who to choose. However, being too picky could backfire and leave you home alone on a Friday night.

Dating expert Amber Soletti previously told The Washington Post: “I meet so many singles at dating events, both men and women, who have crazy expectations for a partner, and I feel sad that so many of them are lonely and will remain single forever.”

She encourages daters to make “dating decisions,” but advises them to focus on deeper topics like politics and parenting perspectives.

“If you try to compromise on these key issues, your relationship will end up being filled with arguments, resentment, and ultimately breakdown,” Soletti explains.

The dating expert acknowledged that some seemingly superficial things, like physical attractiveness, are actually important in a relationship and simply advised singles not to stick too strictly to their list of requirements.

“Don’t throw away all your standards,” she declared. “Just be willing to compromise in some areas.”

Psychologist Dr Orion Talaban said being more open-minded could help single women and the “vast majority” of men who are “invisible” on dating apps.

Talaban claims that women’s demands only allow them to consider a small number of partners with certain qualifications – most men do not meet the 6-6-6 rule.

“Height, income, and physique are just a few of the hundreds of characteristics that make up the overall profile,” Brian Anderson, dating coach and CEO of Dating By Blaine, said in a blog post.

“If you’re really good in other areas, most women will overlook these things.”

To entice women to follow the 6-6-6 rule and swipe right, experts encourage men to get creative and add personalization to their profiles.

For most women, having a good sense of humor, hobbies, and fashion sense is more important than height, physique, and annual income.
