Woman transforms ex-boyfriend’s name tattoo into
Talk about taking a breakup to the next level.
A heartbroken Brit turned her bad decision to get a tattoo into an A-list joke – turning her ex’s name into her favorite budget airline.
Last November, Katie Allan, 22, got her boyfriend’s name “Ryan” tattooed on her right hip after a bet she wouldn’t do it.
“I stupidly got his name tattooed,” Ellen, a barmaid from Macclesfield, Cheshire, told Kennedy News.
“He said, ‘I bet you wouldn’t do it. I bet you would never do that.’ So one day, while he was at work, I went and finished it.”
The tattoo cost her £25, $33.51 – and her dignity when the couple split last July.
Suddenly, Alan is trapped by the world’s most embarrassing souvenir.
“The girls and I were thinking about masking, and then we thought, ‘What if we don’t even mask, what if we add Air And convert it to Ryanair? ” she told the media.
After all, Ellen was on a Ryanair flight to Ibiza just two weeks after the split, making the cheeky fix feel like it was meant to be.
On October 9, she went back to her original tattoo artist, who happily added “air” to the end of the ink—for free.
“She loved it because she was the first person to actually get his name tattooed and tried to tell me not to do it,” Allen said with a laugh.
“I was like, ‘No, that’s okay, this is funny.’ And then as soon as we broke up, I was like, ‘Ugh, so… I 100 percent hate this name now.'”
The rebranding has created a stir online: A TikTok video the ex-girlfriend posted showing her transformation has been viewed more than 715,000 times, with viewers calling her a “genius.”
“A lot of people said it was stupid,” she said. “I thought, ‘This isn’t stupid, this is funny.’ It doesn’t bother me at all. I think it’s hilarious. I love it. Now it’s my favorite tattoo.”
No, she doesn’t expect to fly for free for the rest of her life – although she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a little compensation.
“I don’t think I deserve free flying for life,” she joked. “Maybe just a cheeky holiday to Ibiza.”
Allen insists there was no hard feelings – it was just a joke.
“It’s not heartbreaking to have to sweep it under the rug,” she said.
“I thought it was good to do it. Anyway, I did it because of the bet, so I just had to prove that I would do it. I’m too stubborn not to do it.”
Most people wouldn’t dream of having their lover’s name slapped in their face – unless, of course, you have a boyfriend like “Kevin.”
“get mine [boyfriend’s] “My name is tattooed on my face,” London-based ink enthusiast Ana Stanskovsky gushed in a 2023 TikTok post. “Let’s get started!”
The video, which has racked up millions of views, shows her boyfriend Kevin Freshwater’s name written in bold black letters below her hairline.
“Yes, it’s true,” she confirmed. “I can’t even believe I did it.”
“I know it’s a little crazy,” Stanskovsky added. “But I like to express my feelings, and I think if you really love someone, you should be able to express it.”
What if your partner isn’t on board? Anna’s advice is simple: “If your girlfriend doesn’t want your name tattooed on her face, just find yourself a new girlfriend.”
